Our decor is intentionally simple. The stove, mom's sewing machine, the traditional Mennonite pictures on the wall and the dishes that do not match reflect our attempt to create, as closely as possible, an old fashioned Mennonite kitchen.
Mennonites first emigrated to the prairies in the late 1870's settling in small "wraps" of villages as they did in Russia. They worked the land on which they lived their very simple and frugal lived. From this affinity to the land, a hearty & flavourful diet grew.
